I'm not a huge fan of internet games, but I recently played a game called The Cost of Life and it's a little more like reality than I would've thought. It's about a family that you have to keep alive by managing their health, money, education, and happiness. Their health is the most important. If the whole family dies, GAME OVER. The game is educational, but kind of fun. it's not drop dead exciting, but the whole game kind of gives you a slight idea of what it would be like to live in those conditions. A SLIGHT idea, of course. No one but the actual victims will ever know exactly what it's like.

Hi Tiffany. This is David Lowenstein. I'm the state director for Globaloria here in WV. I've been reading students' blogs from all around the state and I really like what you've done with your blog so far.
ReplyDeleteI know of the game that you wrote about (The Cost of Life) - it is eye-opening to play that game and get a "slight" glimpse of the poverty and lack of basic necessities and opportunities that too many people in our world have to deal with.
Also, I wanted to share with you that the black panther is my favorite animal so I really like the pics that you have of them. Also, I appreciate the honesty with which you write your blogs. You sound like a very strong young woman with a good head on your shoulders. I look forward to meeting you and your classmates when I visit your school later this month.
tiffany that is so true..about the life thing and i played that game. it made me sooo angry grr.
ReplyDeleteDavid, Thanks for the comment. I'm still not sure if this is how you're supposed to answer comments, but I'll give it a try. Anyway, I want to make a game comtaining something to do with homeless, starving, and poor people. I'll send you all my ideas.
